Who knew?! You might know that it is even used to treat alcohol poisoning or to alleviate hangovers. I have yet to use it for all of these purposes but I have started to incorporate it into my own daily routine. Activated charcoal is like a little miracle hidden in a fine, dusty, black powder. Since I was given a bag of charcoal to test and review I have been brushing my teeth with it daily. Sounds weird but it is great for teeth whitening and for healthy gums. I use a VERY little bit on top of my toothpaste. If you use too much your teeth will look black and you will have to rebrush (several times) to make it go away. I learned this the hard way. I have also used it as a facial mask. I am loving this stuff. It is a natural absorbent that binds with impurities to wash them away. This includes facial impurities, but also coffee, tea, and soda stains on the teeth. 

It is a very fine powder so you have to use it with caution. It comes in not one, not two, but three ziploc bags to prevent it from exploding everywhere. I am excited to continue finding new ways to use this charcoal powder, but so far it is a great addition to my routine. I can't wait to try the charcoal lemonade that I keep seeing everywhere.

Activated Charcoal Shoe Deodorizer by Moody Zook

It's hot outside. When it's hot outside it is inevitable that my feet get sweaty. When my feet get sweaty they start to get a little stinky. I don't like to be stinky. That's why I was excited to try another charcoal product from Moody Zook. 

The shoe deodorizer plugs are made of all natural activated charcoal. After a long day of work I love to take off my shoes and put my feet up. But before I put my feet up I place these plugs carefully in my shoes. These plugs absorb odor and moisture using natural charcoal. Absorbing moisture prevents stinky bacteria from multiplying and prevents mold and icky fungal growth. Yeah I know, it's gross to think about the icky fungal growth…but it happens. I love that they don't have an odor themselves, they just absorb that muggy smell that comes from sweaty feet. I recommend trying these for yourself. Your feet will thank you!

Another beautifully crafted product from Valentia. I have never been disappointed with the products they have sent me to test and review. Today I am reviewing their Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask; it is so luxurious and smell so good (as you know I always love the smell of Valentia products).

The TripleBooster

How many car chargers have you bought? Every time you upgrade your phone or get a new gadget, you have to buy a new one. This TripleBooster car charge has 3 separate USB ports so I can easily charge one or more of my techy gadgets. I can charge my Samsung phone, my Apple iPad, and my iPod all at the same time. This is a great item to keep in the car and everything, charger and various cords, can be carried in a handy drawstring bag.

A few things that are special about this particular charger:

~ it is fireproof - I didn't know I needed a fireproof car charger but hey, it sounds really important all of a sudden

~ overheating protection - I hate it when my phone is charging and it feels like it is en fuego

imPRESS Press On Manicure Review

I always have my nails painted. On rare occasions I get them manicured professionally, but I typically do them myself. I have not used press-on nails in the past. Scratch that…I have not used them since the horror of the '90s press-on nail. I was traumatized enough to never do that to myself again. In 2015 fake nails have made drastic improvements. They are easier to apply and not as clunky. Clunky is the only word I can think of to describe those tragic looking pieces of plastic.

I was given two colors to test and review. My favorite was the neutral matted color with the sparkly accent nail. I really like the way these look. From far away. My problem with these press on nails is that I have the wrong size nail-bed. When you look closely you can see that they do not really fit, even with the many sizes included in the kit. That being said, I am sad that they don't fit my hand because I really like them and recommend them to others.

The application process is easy with simple back peels. (There is none of that terrible glue from my childhood fake nail days…you know what I'm talking about!) It is so easy to do your nails and go on with your day because you do not have to worry about smudges. They are also safe to use on your natural nails and easy to remove.
