In the olden days you could only get a product with Retinol with a prescription. Or you could cross the border and bring it back from Mexico but that can get a little pricey…plane tickets and all. Aria Starr provided me with a free bottle of their professional grade Retinol serum in exchange for my honest review. 2.5% Retinol makes it professional strength and provides great results in terms of skin benefits.
You might be wondering what is Retinol? Long story short, it is a form of Vitamin A. It is an antioxidant that attaches to your skin cells and tells them to shape up. It is also the #1 dermatologist recommended cosmetic anti-aging ingredient. While Retinol is great for many types of skin issues, such as acne and hyper pigmentation, no one ingredient can do everything that your skin needs. This product works with Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E, Green Tea and Organic Aloe to sooth, moisturize, and brighten your skin. All of these ingredients are included in my list of favorites and this serum is 72% organic ingredients, gotta love that!
This super serum comes in a lovely 2 oz dark blue, pump bottle that is easy to use. The serum comes out of the pump easily and the dark blue bottle helps to preserve the ingredients that can be damaged by too much sun exposure. The serum itself is a gel-like consistency and has no scent. It glides across my skin and easy to spread. 1 pump of the serum is enough to cover my face, neck, and décolletage so the bottle should last quite awhile. The serum also absorbs beautifully. It takes just a minute to fully absorb into the skin, allowing me to apply my moisturizer quickly after serum application so it does not add a lot of time onto my daily routine.
I recommend that you start slow if you have never used a serum (especially professional strength). If you have a sensitivity it can cause redness, but it is worth it to power through if this happens to you. With continued use the redness and discomfort should go away. I have sensitive skin but have not had any problems with this product, and I use it once per day. I suggest using it twice a week at first, and slowly increasing the application.
The product retails for $99.95. Yes that is a lot! But it is on sale now for only $16.95. Sound better? Yes that is 83% off! Click here to check it out.
